What is the Arch and Fillet innovation? Why Do I Care?

What is the Arch & Fillet innovation?

Arch & Fillet is a reference to the innovative combination of structural engineering principles exclusively employed in the Door Devil striker plates that allow it to be skinnier and stronger so that we can fit all the necessary reinforcement components on your doorway.

DOOR DEVIL ARCH AND FILLET

DOOR SECURITY ARCH & FILLET

It is the result of our consultation with mechanical engineers on how to improve our product  keeping in mind the (3) common challenges/requirements facing every doorway security product:

  1. All reinforcement components must fit  in a gap of approximately 0.25” or less.
  2. Withstand a minimum of  1,200 lbs of force
  3. Allow the door to operate properly once installed.

The number of customers noting that none of the marketed products would fit on their doorways was the reason we engaged a mechanical engineering team to help solve this problem. The result of this collaboration was the Arch & Fillet innovation exclusive to Door Devil.

It is  industry’s only answer meet & exceed all (3) challenges.

“Of course, thicker (14 gauge) steel is stronger; but if it wont fit on your doorway the kit is useless. If  it fits, but can’t withstand the force; the kit is useless.”

Why should you care?

This innovative combination of structural design concepts is the reason our mechanical engineering tests were reported to be 26% stronger (experienced 26% less maximum stress than those using a similar steel gauge and employing simple rectangles). The impact is that we can safely reduce the thickness of our steel gauge, yet obtain the ability to withstand approximately 2000 lbs of force.

 In a nutshell…

The Arch & Fillet made us stronger so we could be skinnier and have a better chance at fitting on your door than any other product; yet have enough strength to exceed any force your door will encounter.
